A 30-day "Easy Rider" motorbike tour (where you ride your own bike or sit pillion behind an experienced local guide) allows you to explore the entirety of Laos. This comprehensive itinerary covers the tranquil south, the rugged mountainous center, and the remote, ethnic northern regions.
Day 1: Arrival in Vientiane ( D )
Pick up at the airport to hotel and Meet your Easy Rider guide, select your motorcycle, and finish paperwork.
Test ride around town and visit Pha That Luang. dinner with guide.
Day 2: Vientiane to Thakhek (approx. 340 km) ( B , L , D )
Early Ride to the south along Route 13 parallel to the Mekong River.
Arrive in Thakhek, the starting point of the famous loop.
Day 3: Thakhek to Savannakhet (approx. 135 km) ( B , L , D )
A shorter ride to explore French colonial architecture.
Visit Wat Xayaphoum and sample local street food.
Day 4: Savannakhet to Pakse (approx. 240 km) ( B , L , D )
Head further south into the gateway of the Bolaven Plateau.
Rest up for the mountainous terrain ahead.
Day 5: Pakse to Champasak & Si Phan Don (approx. 140 km) ( B , L , D )
Explore the ancient Khmer temple ruins of Wat Phou.

Visit Plain of Jars Sites 1, 2, and 3 to see mysterious megalithic stone jars.
Visit the MAG (Mines Advisory Group) information center to learn about UXO clearance.
Day 13: Phonsavan to Vieng Xai (approx. 240 km)( B , L , D )
Ride a highly technical, curvy mountain highway to Sam Neua.
Continue to Vieng Xai, near the Vietnamese border.
Day 14: Vieng Xai Caves to Sam Neua (approx. 30 km)( B , L , D )
Tour the Vieng Xai Caves, a hidden underground city used by the Pathet Lao leadership during the war.
Return to Sam Neua for an overnight stay.
Day 15: Sam Neua to Nong Khiaw (approx. 320 km) ( B , L , D )
A long, challenging, and breathtaking ride through the Nam Et-Phou Louey National Protected Area.
Arrive at the dramatic limestone karsts of Nong Khiaw.

Follow the Mekong River valley paths.
Arrive in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Luang Prabang.

Wake up early for the Tak Bat (Alms Giving Ceremony).
Visit Wat Xieng Thong and hike up Mount Phousi for sunset.
Day 26: Kuang Si Falls & Pak Ou Caves (approx. 90 km) ( B, L )
Ride out to the multi-tiered, turquoise Kuang Si Waterfalls.
Ride to the Pak Ou Caves to see thousands of Buddha statues left by pilgrims.
Day 27: Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng via Kasi Pass (approx. 185 km) ( B , L )
Ride the famous "New Road" over the Kasi Pass, featuring some of the most dramatic mountain views in Southeast Asia.
Arrive in the adventure capital, Vang Vieng.

Go dune-buggying, paramotoring, or river tubing.
Hike up Nam Xay Viewpoint for the famous motorcycle-on-a-cliff photo op.
Day 29: Vang Vieng to Vientiane via Nam Ngum Lake (approx. 160 km)( B , L , D )
Avoid the main highway by taking scenic backroads past the massive Nam Ngum Reservoir.
Arrive back in Vientiane for a farewell dinner with your guide.
