Starting and ending in the town of Thakhek, this roughly 450 km route takes you through a dramatic scenery of limestone peaks, local villages, and some of the world's most impressive cave systems. Most travelers complete the journey in 3 to 4 days, though taking 5 days allows for a more relaxed pace to explore hidden springs and viewpoints.
Morning: Hotel pickup at 8:30 AM.
Key Stops: Visit the That Sikhottabong stupa, Tham Pa Sueam, the Buddha Cave, Tha Falang (swimming spot), Tham Nang Aen Cave, and the local market.
Afternoon: Head toward the Nakai Plateau, stopping at the Song Sou (Song Zu) waterfall, the Orchid Trail, and the Nam Theun 2 Dam viewpoint.
Overnight: Phosy Thalang Guesthouse or Sabaidee Tha Lang Guesthouse.
Morning: Ride through rural villages and winding mountain passes toward Lak Sao.
Key Stops: See the sandstone Buddha statues, the Dragon Cave (Tham Mangkone) with its panoramic viewpoint, and take a dip at the Cool Springs.
Afternoon: Stop at the Thabak Bomb Boats area, Nahin Market, and the Nahin viewpoint before making your way to Kong Lor Village.
Overnight: Kong Lor Cave Resort.
Morning (Kong Lor Cave): Take a 2 to 3-hour round-trip motorized longtail boat ride through the spectacular 7-kilometer underground river.
Afternoon: Ride to The Rock Viewpoint. You can choose to experience the canopy zipline tour or take a short limestone walkway.
Return: Ride back to Thakhek
