How much luggage can i bring on an Easy Rider tour ?
Each person can bring one (1) backpack or suitcase (max. 20 kg / 44 lbs) and one (1) daypack or handbag on the tour. Even pretty big hard scale suitcases can be tied to the back of the motorbike as long as they are not over 20 kg (44 lbs); it’s more about weight distribution than size.
All luggage is put in waterproof bags and securely strapped to the front or back of the motorcycle.
If you start and end the Easy Rider tour in the same location, we encourage you to travel light and only bring the luggage you need during the tour. Usually your hostel or hotel has luggage storage for the rest of your belongings.
What happens if my backpack or suitcase doesnt't fit the bike ?
If your backpack or suitcase is too heavy to be tied to the back of the motorbike, or you have more luggage than allowed, your luggage can be transported by bus to the destination city. The luggage will be stored at the bus company office until you come to pick it up after the tour. Please note that this also means that your tour ends at the bus station, and not at your accommodation. You’ll need to arrange a transfer for the last part to your hotel yourself.
For luggage transfer by bus we charge a small fee of 90.000 LAK ($/4) per item. You can’t access your luggage during the tour, so you’ll need to put everything you need during a multi-day tour in your daypack. Also, take your valuables with you Or your group can book a support vehicle is 125 USD / day (including fuels, accommodation, meals, driver, parking fee ) ( Price subject to change )
What is types of accommodation in tour ?
For all multi-day tours, accommodation is included in the tour rate. We sleep in homestays, guesthouses, bungalows, hotels and resorts. All accommodations have local owners – they do not focus on foreign tourists. The minimum quality for accommodation is 3 stars or higher, except when we stay in homestays.
During a homestay we stay in a local Laos home. You’ll have privacy and basic sanitation is provided, but keep in mind we’re staying in people’s homes. We keep the experience as authentic as possible.
During multi-day tours we try to provide a mix of accommodation types, so you can fully experience the Laos hospitality.
If you have special wishes related to accommodation (for example, single beds instead of a double bed), please make sure to tell us in the Remarks-section of the booking form – we will take your wishes in account.
Can i book a single room accommodation in tour ?
Please note that solo travelers pay a supplement of $10 to 90 per night for their own private room on all multi-day tours ( Based on tour itinerary )
Is a tour with Easy Riders suitable for children ?
Motorbike tours with Easy Riders are suitable for children from ten (8) years and older, while being under the supervision of at least one (1) adult.
Younger children are often not tall enough to fit the protective gear. From our experience we also know that young kids often get too tired of all the impressions and the excitement of sitting on the back of a motorcycle.
What happens when we encounter bad weather ?
As Laos has a tropical monsoon climate, the Laos weather is pretty unpredictable. Tropical rain showers occur daily. This is especially the case in the central . Even the ‘dry season’ ( October until February) does not guarantee clear blue skies.
The tour always takes place, even during bad weather or heavy rain. The Easy Riders bring good quality rain gear for you and waterproof covers for your luggage. You are more than welcome to bring your own rain gear.
If the weather turns dangerous (i.e. during a typhoon), the Easy Rider will discuss with you if, and for how long, the tour will be paused.
What do i bring during a multi-day tour ?
If your tour is destined for a different location than the starting location, you take all your luggage along. If the starting and ending location are the same, only bring the essentials:
- Clothes
- Shoes
- Swimwear (if your tour includes waterfalls…)
- Toiletries
- Passport
- Cash
- Sunscreen
- Sunglasses
- Mosquito repellent
